Effective Date: September 9, 2025

Applies To: https://mysploot.com and any related sites, subdomains, or previews including mysploot.com, the Sploot browser extension, and all associated services (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy explains how Sploot (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and safeguards information when you use the Services. By using the Services, you agree to this Policy and to any updates we post from time to time. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

1) Roles & Scope

  • Shoppers (no sign‑up): Individuals who install and use the browser extension to discover influencer codes while shopping.
  • Influencers (registered users): Individuals or entities who create an account, select a package, and add codes.

This Policy applies to our websites, browser extension, and any communications or support we provide in connection with them.

2) Information We Collect

  1. From Shoppers (extension users)
    • Device & log data: IP address, browser type/version, operating system, language, time zone, and basic event logs (e.g., installs/uninstalls, extension version, performance and crash diagnostics).
    • Usage events: Non‑identifying telemetry such as when the extension icon is shown, when you click “copy” on a code, and general domain‑level context to determine whether a merchant checkout is present (e.g., “brand.com domain detected with a promo field”).
    • Page context signals (limited): To function, the extension reads minimal page context necessary to detect merchant sites and coupon fields. This occurs primarily on‑device; if transmitted to our servers, it is limited to what’s needed to operate and improve the feature.
    • What we do not collect from shoppers: We do not collect payment card numbers you enter on merchant sites, your merchant account passwords, or full page contents unrelated to coupon detection.

    The site states the extension is usable without sign‑up and highlights support for Chrome/Edge/Safari; we drafted the above to reflect a minimal‑data design consistent with that experience.

  2. From Influencers (account holders)
    • Account data: Name, email, password (hashed), contact number, address, country, and profile details you provide.
    • Creator content: The codes, brand names, descriptions, categories, and any images you upload so shoppers can discover your codes.
    • Subscription & billing: Package selection, transaction metadata (e.g., amount, date, status), and payment instrument tokens via our payment processor (we don’t store full card numbers on Sploot servers).
    • Performance metrics: Aggregated stats such as views or code “copy” events to help you understand code engagement.
  3. Information we get from others
    • Service providers: Hosting, security, analytics, customer support, email, and payment processors provide us with limited information needed to operate the Services.
    • Brands/partners: If a brand or partner shares whether a code was redeemed, we may receive basic redemption signals (typically aggregated or pseudonymous).

3) How We Use Information

We use information to:

  1. provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
  2. surface relevant influencer codes to shoppers;
  3. operate accounts, process payments, and provide support for influencers;
  4. measure performance (e.g., code “copy” counts) and reduce fraud or abuse;
  5. send transactional communications (service, updates) and—where permitted—marketing communications (you can opt out anytime);
  6. comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions and Sploot User Agreement.

4) Legal Bases (EEA/UK only)

Where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide Services to you), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Services, fight fraud, and measure basic usage), consent (for certain cookies/marketing, where required), and legal obligations.

5) Sharing & Disclosure

We share information only as needed to operate the Services or as required by law:

  • Vendors/Processors: Hosting, security, analytics, customer support, email, and payment processing.
  • Brands/partners: We may share limited, non‑sensitive metrics (e.g., aggregated code engagement) to help creators and partners understand performance.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
  • Legal: To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights, safety, and integrity.

We do not “sell” personal information or “share” it for cross‑context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended).

6) Cookies & Tracking; Global Privacy Control (GPC)

  • On our sites: We use strictly necessary cookies and, where enabled, analytics or performance cookies. Where required, we’ll request your consent.
  • In the extension: We may use local storage and similar browser technologies to remember settings and improve performance.
  • Do Not Track: We do not respond to DNT signals.
  • GPC: Where legally required (e.g., certain US states), we honor Global Privacy Control for opt‑outs related to “sale”/“sharing”/targeted advertising.

7) Data Retention

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We may retain de‑identified or aggregated data for analytics and service improvement.

8) Security

We employ technical and organizational measures designed to protect information (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9) International Transfers

Information may be processed in countries other than where you live (including the United States). Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.

10) Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or limit/opt‑out of certain processing (including targeted advertising or profiling). To exercise rights, email info@mysploot.com. We will verify requests and respond as required by law.

Marketing opt‑out: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in the email or by emailing info@mysploot.com. Transactional messages will still be sent as needed.

11) Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact info@mysploot.com to request deletion.

12) Browser Extension Permissions & Uninstall

The extension may request browser‑provided permissions needed to detect merchant sites and coupon fields. These permissions enable on‑device functionality and do not mean we collect all content on the pages you visit. You can disable or uninstall the extension at any time via your browser’s extensions/add‑ons settings. Supported browsers shown on our site include Chrome, Edge, and Safari.

13) Third‑Party Sites & Merchants

When you shop on third‑party merchant sites, their privacy policies govern your data with them. Sploot is not responsible for merchant privacy or security practices and generally does not receive your order‑level details from merchants. (Creators are responsible for the accuracy of codes they add.)

14) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (e.g., on our website or by email if you have an account) and update the Effective Date above.
